Oh well.

Bieber's concert turned out to be not THAT bad after all.
Apart from the fact that he's 1-hour late, and that it rained, and his voice was like a man-to-be-but-not-yet-a-man, everything else was awesome I must say.

I can't really complain much the fact that I was able to volunteer with UN and get closer with the Somalian refugees. It was an eye-opener for me.

Before I came in, I knew the word "refugees" exist, and that's about it; I didn't know much. But hoyeah, I came home feeling inspired! As refugees, these kids weren't allowed to go to school, and their parents couldn't work, and that left us wondering where the heck they get the money from?

They actually obtained money solely from their friends/relatives who're overseas, pooled their resources together, and tried to hang on (which they did beautifully). I understand from the founder of Somalian Centre, Shafie, that about 3-4 families stay together in a small condo, and they send their kids to the centre for their education. It was indeed below average, the centre was cramped, but at least, they stay united. I wonder what'll happen to us Malaysians if *touch wood* 1 day we enter into war and all of us resort to be refugees? Can we match the bond that they have?

What can I say. Right now some of us fight over lil' stuffs, stuffs that sometimes I felt disgusted, and "politics" is a dirty word nowadays. I am so appalled at how our papers are mostly filled up with politics, so much so that I read papers from the back! I mean seriously you all, seriously? Can't you all old people just kiss & make up or something?

But yeah, who am I to say, isn't it. I'm just a young, ambitious lady who'd want to make a difference.

Nevertheless, people like Shafie should be applauded. He set up the centre on his own, and resorted to become a devoted teacher there. He also has a vision of setting up a university at his home country, I got the privilege of getting an insight of that. That, ladies and gentlemen, is something. That is self-actualization, Masha Allah.

May lord protect these Somalian kids, and all refugees in the world. Amen.
